Task 9. The letter-Box Key
Once an Englishman went to the seashore for his summer holidays. He asked his housekeeper to post him all letters that she would receive during his absence. She promised him to do that.
The Englishman rested very well. A month passed but he received no letters. He thought it strange and he telephoned his housekeeper: “Why didn’t you post me my letters?” “Because you didn’t leave me the key of the letter-box,” was the answer.
The Englishman apologized and promised to send her the key. In some days he put the key into an envelope, wrote down his address on it and posted the letter. Another month was passing but still he didn’t receive any letters. When at the end of the month he came back home he spoke angrily with his housekeeper. “But what could I do?,” asked the poor woman. “The key which you posted was in the locked letter-box too”.

Do You Agree That Zoos Are Out-of-date and Cruel Institutions That Should Be Closed Down
- I think it is a problem, because some people think that zoos are out-of-date and cruel institutions or that they should be closed down, but others think that zoos are not out-of-date and cruel institutions or that they should be closed down.
- There are zoos in all countries and people like to go to them.
- As for me, I like zoos, because they help us to see real animals or to study about their lives.
- Of course we can see or study about animals from TV natural programs and from the books, but we shall not be able to reach any results when we don’t see them with our own eyes.
- To my mind, animals in zoos live in cages that are too small for them, but they have enough food there.
- Sometimes I’m very sorry for those animals, but I understand that in such a way we can save some rare species or even we can take them to increase their number.
- It is so fun to visit the zoo and watch monkeys’ behaviour or to feed birds, when nobody sees that.
- We know that much money is given to this institution to keep animals in proper order.
- So I disagree that zoos are out-of-date and cruel institutions.
- They are useful, interesting, helpful and fun for children all over the world.
